In order to fulfill a lifelong passion for science, Dr. Ahmed Kaboudan pursued an interdisciplinary career in dentistry, and computer science. He received his D.D.S. from Cairo University, then a Master of Orthodontics and Biomechanics from Paris University (Pierre et Marie Curie, France) and later a Ph.D. in Computer Science from WIU, USA. He joined the University of Connecticut (UCONN, USA) as a visiting professor of Orthodontics, researching and developing computer applications in the field of Biomechanics and Computer Simulation and Visualization, and awarded the “Outstanding Achievement” certificate.
Back to Egypt, he continued his contributions to the advancement of science. Among his major work in medical computing was in cooperation with IBM research center in Egypt, designing and implementing the first Health Information System for the Middle East region. From 1995, he dedicated most of his time to supercomputing, parallel, and massively parallel systems, and he is one of the pioneers of NVIDIA GPGPU and CUDA developers and researchers. He conducted different projects with a variety of military research centers, public and private medical and engineering schools, and initiated and developed many medical and civilian projects and products. He continued teaching computer science, and researching in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Real Time Visualization and Simulation, and in different multidisciplinary areas.
Dr. Kaboudan has over twenty-five years in Research and Software Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Teaching, Project Management and Consultancy, in Europe, USA, Canada, and the Middle East, in academic, government, military and private sectors. Areas of emphasis include scientific computing, medical computing, military computing, mechanical and physics based simulations, distributed simulations, GPGPU and parallel solutions, artificial intelligence, deep learning, mixed reality, computer vision, real-time 3D visualization and simulation, as well as national projects management, health, patient-care and patient management information systems.
Over the years, he collected a large number of prizes, rewards, and Honoring and was elected the “Man of the year” for his contributions to the field of computing by Egypt Developers. Dr. Kaboudan is the former Senior Adviser for his Excellency the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, the founder and President of MoyaTech for scientific computing (moyatechme.com), the founder of Sumer Computing Club and Open Computing Club, former visiting professor of Orthodontics and Biomechanics, University of Connecticut, USA, former visiting professor of Computer Science, El-Shorouq Academy, Egypt, cofounder of Maadi Dental Center, Consultant for the Egyptian Chamber of Information Technology and international freelance lecturer (worldwide). At the end of 2017, Dr Kaboudan along with other founders founded the DIGIBRAIN4, INC the promising company that has the vision to be the leading of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in dentistry.

DR. SAMEH TALAAT

Dr. Sameh Talaat obtained his master’s degree in orthodontics in 2012 from University of Cairo in Egypt and he got his fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthodontics in 2017.
Dr. Talaat has been involved in the launch of mixed reality digital technology researches in the Department of Oral Technology at University of Bonn in Germany. Dr Talaat is an assistant Lecturer of orthodontics, in the Department of Orthodontics, Future University in Egypt. His Doctorate degree at the department of Oral Technology in Bonn university as well as his degrees in the field of Orthodontics make his contribution important to this innovative project.
He is actively involved in research and teaching on the subject of diagnosis and treatment planning particularly in using recent algorithms for handling digital dental models. His works have been published in refereed journals besides that he is an active reviewer with others. Dr. Talaat is actively involved in research involving latest technologies used in diagnosis of orthodontic and orthopedic problems. Currently he is an active member in good standing of the European Association of Orthodontists, as well as the World Federation of Orthodontists.
Since 2010, with continuous work on integrating latest technologies in computer science with dentistry , Dr Talaat, with his colleagues, is involved in applying various dental and orthodontic applications on the latest available top of the niche platforms e.g Augmented reality glasses and latest gadgets with depth cameras. His scientific background reflects the benefits from his contribution in DIGIBRAIN4 TM. DIGIBRAIN4 TM is a game changer in the merge of computer science with Dentistry. His expertise helps DIGIBRAIN4 TM to elaborate new ideas the meet the demand of the health sector. He prepares the data needed to train the DIGIBRAIN4 TM technologies, and he performs the research that tests the reliability of these technologies.

DR. CHRISTOPHER BOURAUEL

Dr. Bourauel studied Physics at the University of Bonn and received his Diploma in 1987 in laser physics and atomic spectroscopy in the Institute of Applied Physics. Since 1987 he is heading the Experimental Orthodontics Laboratory and is involved in dental biomechanics, orthodontic materials science and measurement device development. In 1992 he received his Dr.rer.nat. (PhD) with numerical work about superelastic nickel titanium alloys. In 1998 he finished his Habilitation and received the venia legendi for Experimental Dentistry and Biomechanics. In 2005 he received an Extraordinary Professorship and since 2006 he is heading the Depart-ment of Oral Technology at the Dental Clinic of the University of Bonn. His expertise in orthodontic biomechanics, 3D geometry reconstruction, numerics (finite element methods), and device development make his contribution important to this innova-tive project.
He also is actively involved in teaching in the fields of orthodontic biomechanics and materials science as well as dental radiology and materials science in dentistry in general. Dr. Bourauel has widely published with around 250 papers (ISI) in inter-national peer reviewed journals. He currently supervises more than 50 doctoral or PhD candidates (including Dr. Sameh Talaat) working in the fields of orthodontic biomechanics and materials, dental implantology, numerics and 3D geometry re-construction. He is a member in good standing of the German Physical Society, the German Society of Biomechanics, the European Society of Biomechanics, the Ger-man Orthodontic Society, and the European Society of Biomechanics.
In the years 2014/2015 he was president of the German Society of Biomechanics. Addtionally he is editorial board member of several journals, such as Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering, Journal of Orofacial Orthopedics, and Orthodontics & Craniofacial Research. Since 1990 he received more than 30 scien-tific prizes from national and international societies, including the B.F. and Helen Dewel Clinical Orthodontic Award of the AAO and the Distinguished Teacher Award from the EOS.
Since 2014, he works in close cooperation with Dr Talaat on the basic aspects of different modules of what will be the DIGIBRAIN4 TM system. His expertise in study de-sign and scientific training as a physicist and his ideas for novel VR and AR applica-tions will make a relevant input into the development of DIGIBRAIN4 TM. Prof. Bourauel will support and supervise Dr. Talaat in performing the research needed to test and validate the different modules of DIGIBRAIN4 TM.
